Requirements
Experience
24 months of acute care experience within the past 3 years.
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from last 12 months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Cardiovascular, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Valve Repair/Replacement, Epicardial Pacing Wire Care and Management, Genitourinary/Renal, CVVHD/CRRT, IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Medications, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, Fresh tracheostomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Respiratory failure, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Professional Topics and Skills, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area

• Teaching Hospital Experience

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Sheath Removal, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Accessing/Managing Ports, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, CVA/Acute Stroke management, ICP monitoring, Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management

Required Credentials:

• Pass/Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start.

• Drivers License/State ID: Government issued photo ID.

Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Eve/Nights, 8/12-hr shifts, 1900-0730

• Every other weekend, some holidays, no call.

Floating Requirements: Depending on the current staffing needs,the traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units and/or at different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary department no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another department in order to complete the contract.
