Types of patients on the unit:
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Dementia, dependent older adults, diabetes, rehab/restorative care post acute illness, IV medication, fluid and blood administration, COVID, wounds, initial care of trauma patients in the ER, exacerbation of chronic illnesses, Geriatric population, general rehab post-surgery.
Required skills/experience:
Experience or 'Must have' skills: Understanding of dementia, stroke, skin care geriatric patient care
Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions
Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips? RNs must read and interpret
Equipment used on unit:
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Patient managed CPAP only
Previous Employment Requirements:
