Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Hours: 36hrs Or 48hrs

Shift: 12 D/N 0700-1930/1900-0730

2 Years Minimum Experience Required could accept less than 2 years with high acuity first year

Must have 1 prior travel assignment Screen if 1st time travel

Weekend Reuired: Every other weekend; 3-5 shifts per contract

Float Requirement: ICU, IMC, Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Skills Req: Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Emergency Medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Care and Management of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac

IV therapy Req: Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Continuous IV sedation,

Skills Preferred: Starting IV's, CVA/Acute Stroke management, Lumbar drains

Rotating Shifts: Candidates are rotated every 2 to 4 weeks between day and night shifts. However, those who have a preference for night shifts may experience less frequent rotations.

No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
