Requirements
Experience
36 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License

Additional Details:

RNs only: Cannot have a license that is on probation, suspended, or has board proceedings that are pending.

Travel pairs are not supported - each clinician must apply and receive an offer separately

Weekend Requirements: RN will be required to work 4 out of the 8 weekend shifts per schedule. There are not ‘set’ weekends in L&D.

Holiday Requirements: Must be available for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays and 2 out of 3 summer holidays.

Floating Required To Mother Baby if needed. Travelers could float to 1-2 units in a 12 hr shift. Travelers float first.

Patient Population (Diagnoses): 20% High Risk – Diabetics, Pre-Eclampsia, Advanced Maternal Age, low incidence of HIV & hard drug abuse. MUST BE competent & comfortable looking after high risk, MgSO4 infusions. IDDM, placenta Previa, maternal cardiac hx, twins, lupus. C-Sections, tubal ligations, D&C, post amnio.

Required:

  • Must be autonomous and able to do Vag exams
  • Must be comfortable with high risk pregnancies
  • Needs good fetal heart monitoring skills set
  • Fetal assessment

**RNs circulate in OR but do not scrub

Scrubs/color: Hospital provided scrubs, street clothes that come to work in have to be clean & respectful in appearance. Must arrive/leave in street clothes (can’t wear scrubs).
