Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Step Down Unit experience is required from the last 4 years.
References
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

Annual Skills Checklist is required for submission and can't expire during the expected contract dates.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 1 year of experience with this patient population.
  • Titrate drips: Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, Cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management.
  • Must read and interpret.

Required Credentials: RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

Types of Patients on Unit: Patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. Unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, Cath lab, and structural heart. Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR and any other cardiac and vascular related diagnosis.

Unit Details:

  • Beds: 18
  • Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours

Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Special Requests: Manager does schedule, no block or self-scheduling.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Requirements: Every other.

Floating Requirements: Will float to all same level and lower levels of acuity.
