Experience

12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.

24 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience is required from last 3 months.

Experience with MEDHOST is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 charge/lead references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Tennessee license or compact license

Additional Details:

A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Weekend Hours: rotating schedule

Every Other Weekend

Float Requirements: to other Med Surg units

Years of Experience: 2+ years of Med Surg, postpartum, pediatrics in that order. Due to our low birthrate we must accept medical surgical patients on the floor. Need a nurse that has recent experience in those areas.

Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: geriatric, peds, adult, post partum

Must Have Skills/Experience: IV placement; NG tube placement; fundal checks;

Scrub Color: any

Any unacceptable attire: no camo; no logo shirts/sweatshirts other than Starr Regional

Experience in Pediatrics preferred

EHR: Centricity Perinatal

Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Bowel obstruction; hip fracture; Cholelithiasis; Appendicitis; Post Partum care
