Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 12 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a District of Columbia license

Additional Details:

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Previous Employment Requirements: If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of experience: telemetry, vents, high acuity unit required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Pulmonary Artery Line experience, Post op experience

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

-s/p cardiac surgery

-s/p major vascular surgery

-Heart failure on temporary mechanical circulator support

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: VAD, Cmag, CRRT, Swan Ganz PA catheters, pacing, IABP, ECMO

Unit/Facility Details: 32 beds.

Special Requests: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.

Shift & Scheduling:

-Start Dates: 9/29; 10/13; 10/27.

-D/N Variable - 50/50 split 3 days 3 nights within a 6 week period

-On Call/Weekend Requirement: No Call Requirements, weekend included in rotation, holiday coverage expected.

Floating Requirements: ICU, IMC

References: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Acceptable IDs: A valid driver's license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.
