Travel Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit

Previous Employment Requirements: Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Required Skills/Experience:

-Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG.

-IV insulin protocols experience required.

-Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience required.

-Required IV therapy Skills/Experience: Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

-Required Medication Skills/Experience: Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips.

-Required Respiratory/Thoracic Case Skills/Experience: Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management.

-Required Professional Topics and Skills: Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

-COPD, CHF, AKI/ARF, DKA, OD, post surgical, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, GI bleeds

-Chest tubes, bedside dialysis catheter insertion, central line insertion

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Unit/Facility Details: 4 Beds

Special Requests:

-Discuss block schedule requests with manager.

-Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

Shift & Scheduling: Will work every other weekend. No on call.

Floating Requirements: Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by

References: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Acceptable IDs: US Driver’s license or US ID card
