Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Evening/night, 12 Hour Shift, 7:00pm-7:30am. Monday Through Friday,

Every Other Weekend And Some Holidays Required.

PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and telemetry required

Must have experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital

Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to. This is a hard requirement.

EPIC experience within the past 12 months preferred.

Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).

Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs within the facility. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays

Floating: Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract.

1st Time travelers accepted in some units

UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday,

Recruiters, please express this to candidates: - Pass/Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria.

A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts:

Adult Exam:

100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole

No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure]

Passing score of 80% or higher

Pediatric Exam

Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia

Passing score of 80% or higher

Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results. Recruitment will notify the hiring manager that the traveler’s assignment will be cancelled.
