Experience
24 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.
24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required from last 4 years.
3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References

ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they'll be reporting to.

MCU / Multi Care Unit - 617170

Guaranteed hours: 36

Clinician must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. If clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, then they will be DNU for CS AZ and Sacramento for 6 months.

Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year.

Ratios: Depends on the acuity as this is a combined acuity unit: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6, if no nurse aid for 1:3 primary care.

Common diagnoses/Types of patients Medical ICU: Sepsis, suicide attempt, drug or Alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, COVID, DKA, blood; Pressure or heart rate abnormal. Post op complications; PCU: non-titratable infusions to maintain heart rate or blood Pressure.

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Will need at least 2 year of ICU experience. Will take one year of ICU and one year of PCU/ Med surg if they have worked in larger facilities. and have strong skills.

Weekend Requirement: every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.

Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly

Is there a call or standby requirement?: If low census, staff rotates standby turns

Floating Requirements Float to our EC MST & Pediatric unit to care for adult MST, also float to our West Campus in Prescott to care for ICU & PCU to maintain competency in caring for all types of ICU/PCU patients. Would take full med surg team 1:5, Could go to peds to take adult assignment there. Can float to west ICU/ PCU - two hour notice before floating. First to float.

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Currently can wear any scrub color except camouflage
