Weekend Requirement: every other
Holidays: work into perm staff rotation
Floating: float to MedSurg or CCU rarely & only if desired. Will have to work both L&D & PP on unit
Unit: L&D, Well-Baby Nursery, Postpartum combined to form one unit
Beds: 10 beds
Ratios: L&D is usually 1 to 1-2, follow AWHONN guidelines, postpartum is 1 to 4 couplet care
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: on PP side they may occasionally get a post-op gyn surgery, also will see high risk deliveries, 35 weeks and above, drug babies that go through withdrawal protocol, twin deliveries
Certs: NCC certified inpatient OB (RNC-OB) ADV FHM
Additional Notes: must be comfortable running and managing delivery on own, candidates MUST have postpartum and L&D experience, they will not have to scrub in for c-sections, OR will cover this, they do about 30-40 deliveries per month
