Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Pediatric Emergency Department experience.
BSN completion required
Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy – Akron will consider prior employees to return as travelers as long as they are not currently active employees.

Required Skills/Experience: ER RN with Peds experience needed. Medications- Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response- Interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias. Professional Topics and Skills- Triage. Pediatrics.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience. Respiratory- Ventilated patients

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID. Must carry a valid government-issued Photo ID while on assignment.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Respiratory, Orthopedic, Behavioral Health, Trauma, Gastro-intestinal, Cardiac, ENT, Care of the critically ill. Trauma Care, Procedural Sedation, Suture Team.

Types of Patients on Unit: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: Trauma Care, Orthopedic Splints And Braces, Syringe IV pumps,

Unit/Facility Details: BSN is required since this is a Magnet facility. 34 beds.

Special Requests: Please submit with all time off requests.

Shift & Scheduling: Option for 3p-3a OR 7p-7a. Every other weekend required.
