Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Operating Room experience.

Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from any number of months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Illinois license

BLS (Required)

Vaccinations

Required Skills/Experience: Strong scrub and circulate skills; Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery

Preferred Skills/Experience: Neurosurgery (crani and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric and Gynecology

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID, Government-Issued photo ID

Unit/Facility Details: Parking Cost - $2/day at Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC). A shuttle runs every 15 minutes between Stroger and JTDC

Shift & Scheduling:

Call Requirements: One 12 hour shift a month on a Saturday or Sunday, 7A-7P or 7P-7A. There is no week-day call.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month

Floating Requirements: Cook is a manditory float facility, all resources are required to float at the facilities discretion.

Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles.

Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift.

There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.
