Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Oncology Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a District of Columbia license

Nurse Navigator - Radiation Medicine RN - Required

Required Skills / Experience: Must have extensive oncology experience

Skills Required: Care and management of ports, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Starting IVs, Acute Tumor Lysis, Syndrome (ATLS), Anaphylaxis, Extravasation injury, Hemorrhage, Sepsis, Spinal Cord Compression, Neutropenic precautions, Tracheostomy care/management, External Radiation therapy (Teletherapy), Radiation safety precautions, Wound Care, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy

Oncologic Emergencies: Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Anaphylaxis, Extravasation injury, Hemorrhage, Sepsis, Spinal Cord Compression

Symptom management: Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy

IV Therapy/ Infusions: Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Starting and maintaining IVs

Radiation therapy: External Radiation therapy (Teletherapy), Radiation safety precautions, Wound care

Professional Knowledge and Skills: Neutropenic precautions, Tracheostomy care/management

Preferred Skills / Experience: Would be nice if they have nurse navigator or nurse coordinator experience. Oncology is a plus

Work Settings: Radiation Oncology

Unit / Facility Details: Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: 1300-2100 and 1200-2030 rotating
