Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Emergency Department experience within the past 3 years.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Required Skills/Experience: need to be able to mix their own medications & must be able to assist with respiratory meds/equipment/intubation. TNK etc. RNs must read and interpret

Types of Patients on Unit: Diverse patient population with various medical needs. Acute illness, severe injuries, chest pain/ACI, respiratory distress (asthma/COPD), neurological such as stroke, seizure, TBI. Allergic reactions, infectious diseases, intoxication/polysubstance use, psychiatric emergencies such as SI and other acute mental health issues. Traumas- stabbings, shootings, fractures, burns, domestic injuries.

Equipment Used on Unit: Bipap, Vent, Glidescope, Heated high flow, bubble c-pap

Unit/Facility Details: # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 6

Shift & Scheduling: 7a- 7p, 7p - 7aDay/Night rotate, Weekend Requirements: 2 out of 6 weekend requirement, Holiday Requirements: yes, will consider RTO if given ahead of time. Is there call or a standby requirement? no call, OT opportunity if needed.

Floating Requirements: Based on staffing needs and skill set. Common areas ER staff might float to: Medical Surgical unit to assist in certain procedures/codes. Can be support staff in behavioral patients 1:1

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
