All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required skills and experience: Grossing experience HARDSTOP. Needs to have hospital experience. First Time Traveler accepted only with Strong experience and has more than 10 years experience. Grossing and fixation, Additive fixatives, Cell component preservation indications and contra-indications for use, Coagulant/ non-coagulant fixatives, Core biopsies, Curettings, Decalcification, Excision specimens, Immunohistochemistry, Incisional biopsies, Shave biopsies, Smears and squash preparations, Work Settings, Hospital clinical laboratory, Tissue Processing, Automatic tissue processor, Calcified/decalcified tissue, Clearing/types of agents, Dehydration/ types of agents, GI Processing Schedule, Microwave Processing, Embedding and Microtomy, Automated/Manual Microtome, Cuts tissue sections using microtome and cryostat, Cutting blocks, Embedding GI specimens, Embedding large specimens, Embedding Molds, Embedding smalls and bigs, Embedding skin techniques, Gelatin/adhesive media, Histology Cassettes, Microtomy of Fatty Tissue, Microtomy of Frozen sections, Microtomy of hard tissue, Paraffin Wax sections, Precision microtomy, Removing foreign objects as allowed by protocol, Staining, Basic dye stains, Carbohydrates and amyloid, Connective and muscle, Cytoplasmic stains, Differentiation, Giemsa and all formulations, Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stain, Identifying Artifacts, IHC staining, Nuclear stains, Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS) stain, Prepares frozen section and mounts sections on glass slides, Prepares slides for staining, Special Stains, Mounting procedures, Coverslip, Additional Skills

Preferred skills and experience: Teaching Hospital Experience. Frozen Section/tissues, Thin Prep, 24 Hour Urine.

Required credentials: Associate's Degree in Science. Drivers License/State ID. Government issued photo ID. BLS must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation ONLY.
