Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 22 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

All RNs (all specialties) must have NIHSS & EHAC within last 12 months. Certs can be obtained during onboarding.

If candidate resides in one of the restricted counties, they are not eligible for assignment. Restricted Counties-Delta, Franklin, Red River, Hopkins, Bowie, Morris, Titus, Cass, Camp, Rains, Upshur, Marion, Van Zandt, Smith, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, and Panola.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Community Hospital Experience, Teaching Hospital Experience, Previous Charge Experience

Unit Details: 9 bed unit with the possibility to expand to 16 bed, We do no offer surgical procedures for this patient population (other than circumcisions and frenectomy). We do provide retinopathy of prematurity exams as needed. We do offer donor breast milk for specified patient populations. We have 2 full time IBCLCs on staff and lactation peer counselors. Daily Census 7

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: All gestational ages, Respiratory Distress/Failure, Sepsis, Hypoglycemia, Hyperbilirubinemia, Failure to Thrive, Neonatal Abstinence, Meconium Aspiration Syndrome

Equipment Used on Unit: Conventional Vent, HFOV, Inhaled Nitric Oxide, CPAP (Bubble), RAM Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Vaoptherm. IV pumps are Plumb pumps and Smith Medfusion pumps. Our monitors are Phillips. We have Draeger Warms and Baby Leo. We have 1 Panda warmer and 1 Giraffe Omnibed. We also have open cribs. We use Draeger Jaundice meter and phototherapy lights. We do have POC glucometer testing and the ability to run blood gases on the unit. We have Medela breastmilk warmers, kits, and pumps.
