Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: 36hrs or 48hrs, On Call: 4 call shifts in 6 week schedule, Every Third Weekend

Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patients, pacer/temp pacer/ transvenous pacer, IV Insulin Protocols

Clinician must be comfortable with POD 1 hearts, must be able to admit and take fresh hearts

Preferred Skills/Experience: lumbar drain

Unit Details: Avg Daily Census: 1-8, Beds/Rooms: 8

Types of Patients on Unit: Adult

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: CAD, AS, MS. TS, PVD/PAD, PE, MI, CHF, DM

Equipment Used on Unit: Chest tubes, Rapid infuser, Blood warmer, CRRT, Transvenous pacer, Lumbar drains, vents, IABP

Special Requests: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
