Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

24 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a California license

Vaccinations

COVID vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

RNs only: Cannot have a license that is on probation, suspended, or has board proceedings that are pending.

Travel pairs are not supported - each clinician must apply and receive an offer separately

Orientation Date: 8/12

Required:

2+ years recent NICU experience

Must be comfortable with level III neonates

HFOV - Preferred

Approx. 225 births/month

Days of Orientation: 3 - 4

Dress Code:

Scrubs - Any color. No denim. Professional appearance.

Shoes: Non-skid, closed toe, athletic shoes are ok, must wear heel strap with clogs

Floating: Well-Baby Nursery.

Travelers could float to 1-2 units in a 12-hour shift.

Travelers float first

Self-Scheduling Plug travelers where they are needed most in the first schedule and the let them participate in the self-scheduling once they arrive

Weekend Requirements: Do 4 weekend shifts per schedule periods which is 4 weeks.

Call Requirements: No

Holiday Requirements: Must be available for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays and 2 out of 3 summer holidays.

Winter holidays are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Summer holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

Patient Types / Population: Prematurity, Rule out sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Occasional postoperative patients

Magnet Hospital Travel nurses not expected to attend deliveries in Labor and Delivery.

Travel nurses are expected to admit NICU patients.
