Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

9 months of RN First Assist experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

BSN completion required

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license

Additional Details:

A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

3 separate interview times must be provided with each submission.

Education:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Degree in Nursing. Must have completed an approved first assistant program.

Must have had experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, Urology, and general surgery cases.

Must demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and other cognitive education with additional education in the use of surgical instruments on tissue versus the handling of instruments. The certified first assistant may also function as a surgical technologist.

Must possess advanced surgical knowledge.
