Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
21 months of Hematology/Oncology Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Oncology Chemo Certified

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Day/Night Rotating or Nights

Chemo Certification Required

Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients

Weekends: Variable based on unit needs

Schedule: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.

Orientation: First week: Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Orientation Hours: 72

Float Required: Yes to other MedSurg Oncology units

Years of Experience:2 year(s) Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience in work history and checklist- 1 year minimum to Screen

There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start – no exceptions.

Please note: All candidates must be made aware of the urgency of the Ohio Fingerprinting process. Candidates must complete fingerprints as soon as they sign contract. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel.

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
