Scheduling:
-Guaranteed Hours: 48
-Weekend rotation: Every other
-On Call: No
-Holiday Expectations: No RTO during holidays
-Time off: Up to 7 days – must extend to accommodate a full 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks in August every year)
Experience:
-2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is most preferred.
-If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval.
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
Patient Types:
-Complex ICU patients ranging from Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, Neuro and Trauma
-Cardiac experience is required. Will need proficiency in CRRT, balloon pump, Impella, and care of the immediate post-op open heart patient (CABG/TAVR).
-Other common diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population
Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.
Skills required:
-Comfortability working a 48hr/week contract – this is not negotiable for this unit
-Experience with the above-mentioned patients. If traveler has experience outside of this specialty – please include this is your offer details. ICU RN qualified to float to ED.
-Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
-Impella, IABP and CRRT – required
Floating: Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview
