Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 12 months of Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Required Skills/Experience: Pediatric CVICU experience, cardiovascular care including heart transplant, central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring, congenital heart disease and repair, hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, post–cardiac catheterization care, post–cardiac surgery care, post pacemaker insertion care, telemetry unit monitoring, insulin administration, IV insulin pumps, gastric tube management, NG tube insertion and management, isolation precautions, administration of blood and blood products, central line blood draws, central and implanted line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, TPN/lipids, arterial line management, antiarrhythmics, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, pediatric dosage calculations, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, assist and maintain chest tubes, assist and manage intubation, care of ventilated patients, acute airway care and maintenance, end-tidal CO₂ monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), suctioning (ETT, NT), tracheostomy care, ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), urinary catheter insertion and management, infection control/PPE, wound assessment and care.

  • PCICU experience, but will also consider NICU and Peds Stepdown RNs who have PICU floating experience
  • Pediatric step-down, PICU, aquapheresis, ECMO, pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) line insertion and management, management of dysrhythmias, PEWS and Rapid Response Team participation, ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD), remote telemetry monitoring, post-acute abdominal surgery care, liver transplant, pancreas transplant, hyperthermia management, accessing and managing ports, anti-seizure medications, use of the Broselow system, lumbar puncture assistance, external ventricular drain (EVD) care, hydrocephalus and VP shunt management, ICP monitoring, neuromuscular disease care, post-neurosurgery care, hypothermia protocols, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, bone marrow transplant, extremity fracture and cast care, BiPAP/CPAP, lung transplant, acute and chronic renal failure management, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, pre/post hemodialysis management, vaccine administration.
