Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

BSN completion preferred

Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Endocrine/Metabolic, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Genitourinary/Renal, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Medications, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Neurological/Psychiatric, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Respiratory, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Tracheostomy care/management, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Cardiac Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, IV insulin protocols

• Previous Charge Experience

Required Credentials:

• Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

• Drivers License/State ID: Government issued photo ID. A valid driver's license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
