Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Step Down Unit experience within the past 4 years.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license

Required Skills/Experience: Med-surg experience, PCU/Stepdown level of experience. RNs required to titrate drips - Sometimes not usually on med-surg units: Heparin, Titratable- Nicardipine, NTG, insulin, Cardizem. Fixed- dopamine/dobutamine (for stepdown). RNs read strips.

Types of Patients on Unit: Med-surg; post op surgical patients, PCU- strokes, lines, drains, chest tubes, CHF, post vascular procedures, arrhythmias, DKA.

Unit Details: Units included in the Float Pool: Observation unit, Med-Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology. Telemetry & Progressive Care. Nurse Patient Ratios 4-5 patients to one MS; 3 patients to 1 RN on progressive care.

Special Requests: No block scheduling.

Shift & Scheduling: 11/4 or 11/18 start date. Every other weekend and Holiday required depending on the staffing. Self scheduling

Floating Requirements: First to float - Region I: Primary to Virginia Mason Medical Center, but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region One: St. Anne Hospital – Burien, WA; St. Francis Hospital – Federal Way, WA; Virginia Mason Medical Center.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
