RNs only - Need at least a years worth of acute care experience within the past two years.
RNs only - One year of unit experience must be within the last two years
Maine Medical Center requires all candidates to have at least 1 year of Facility Trauma Level 1 experience to be considered.
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36.
• Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted).
• Float Requirements: yes – IMC RN’s may float to another IMC level of care unit within MMC. IMC RN’s will float to med/surg as needed. Med/surg RN’s may float to another med/surg unit with similar level of care. Floating is based on unit need and skill as well as the needs of nursing units.
• Education Modules (will this be consistent for all similar skillset on unit or specific to this Position Request): MMC mandatory onboarding education.
• Patient Ratios: Day Shift Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night Shift Med/surg 1:5-6, Day and Night IMC 3:1.
• Equipment: Specific to our IMC patients: Ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP. Both IMC and Med Tele equipment: CPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non – Rebreather, Epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, Trach care/maintenance.
• Must Have Skills/Experience: IMC RN’s must have Vent experience. All RN’s must have experience with tracheostomy’s and ready/interpreting telemetry strips.
• Type of Patients on Unit: Respiratory, Medical Telemetry, some surgical, sepsis, DKA, Altered Mental Status, Failure to Thrive, Respiratory Failure, and most any acute on chronic medical condition.
• Any unacceptable attire: unprofessional clothing, shirts with logos other than hospital related.
