Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Previous Employment Requirements: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Return Staff Policy: If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of experience: telemetry, vents, high acuity unit. Could accept less than 2 years with high acuity first year

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Pulmonary Artery Line experience

Post op experience preferred

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

s/p cardiac surgery

s/p major vascular surgery

Heart failure on temporary mechanical circulator support

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: VAD, Cmag, CRRT, Swan Ganz PA catheters, pacing, IABP, ECMO

Block Schedules: No

Parking is directly on campus - there is no shuttle schedule to follow

Number of Beds: 32

Shift & Scheduling: Day (07:00 - 19:30); Night (19:00 - 07:30); 3 days 3 nights within a 6 week period.

Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: 3-5

Weekend Coverage: Every Other

On Call: No Call Requirements, weekend included in rotation, holiday coverage expected.

Pre-Approved Time Off: 2 Requests

Floating Requirements: ICU, IMC
