Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

Must have at least 36 months of Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 4 years.

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a California license

Certifications

ACLS (Required)

Vaccinations

An interview may not be available prior to offer.

Shift & Scheduling: EOW - Fri, Sat, Sun (for both days and nights)

Holidays: Yes- work them in with perm staff rotation - that is when they are needed most so travelers should expect to work holidays

No self scheduling

Floor specific orientation: 1 day of orientation on ICU and one shifts on the Tele/stepdown unit

Floating Requirements:

Floating: Yes- to Tele & ER for ICU Holds

Types of Patients on Unit:

(PACU patients will go directly to ICU) Cardiac, PCI, Open Heart, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, cath lab ( some- most of them will recover on the DOU unit), craniotomies, travelers are not assigned fresh open heart or crani's - they do not have to have experience in that area, general medical surgical ICU nurses are needed

Required Skills/Experience: 3 years minimum experience, unless coming from a big institution with 2+ years experience
