Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Illinois license
Certifications
BLS (Required)

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Will work Charge as needed for this assignment

Shift: 4x12 or 3x12 Nights (1845-0715)

First-timers accepted: Yes - Want to see they have a solid foundation as an RN if they are new to travel. > 2 year's experience in medical/surgical nursing.

Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes – will float to other Medical Surgical units Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by

Special Requirements: Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Med/Surg.

Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.

Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.

Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin.

Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Portable Oxygen tank.

Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Magnet / Teaching / Level Trauma (if applicable): Acute Care Hospital - Level I trauma center. Magnet hospital/facility.

Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs.

Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

Previous Charge Experience: Preferred

Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred

Trauma Level I Experience: Preferred

Weekend Coverage: Every Other

Patient Age Groups: Adults

Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler
