Special Care Unit
Patient Population: Patients requiring intermediate care between ICU and med/surg levels.
SCU nurses are responsible for providing care to patients who require close monitoring but are more stable than ICU patients.
Nurses should be comfortable with telemetry, managing post-surgical recovery, and providing support for patients transitioning out of critical care.
