Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Preferred 12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.

Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license

Additional Details:

Ortho Neuro Surgical (ONS) - Required

Required Skills / Experience: if greater than 1 year of experience. 1st time traveler MUST have EPIC experience

Comfortability to take MedSurg assignments

Previous experience with our types of patients above, including IMC/stepdown acuity and Neuro

Ability to read/interpret cardiac strips, chest tubes, trach care (no fresh traches), NGT tube placement and management, JP drains, line management – PICC/Midline/CVL/PIV placement, wound vacs (Wound Care RN will change out the vac but RN must know how to assess and will need to change to wet/dry dressing in case of malfunction), wound care/dressing changes, medication administration, TPN/tube feeding, blood product transfusions, urinary and fecal collection devices

Drip titration of medications

Required Credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Shift & Scheduling: 6-week schedules

Weekend rotation: Travelers could be scheduled for up to 4 out of the 6 weekends, which include Friday, Saturday and Sunday

No mandatory call time. If it is an extra shift on top of their already guaranteed hours, and we have enough staff then they could be placed on call for that shift

Floating Requirements: Any Adult Inpatient Unit - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, Observation.

Will float in rotation with other travelers
