Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience within the past 4 years.

References

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license

Certifications

BLS (Required)

Vaccinations

COVID vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

Additional Details:

Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Roles requiring a state licensure only: Cannot have any licensure hits.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong knowledge in MedSurg, ID, Isolation precautions, etc.

Types of Patients on Unit: Any & all Infectious Disease, Isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, etc.

Unit Details:

18-Beds (All private rooms due to Infectious Diseases)
Ratios: 1:5-6, 1:4 if Covid (Typically staffed w/ 3-4 RNs/shift)

Special Requests: They will allow block scheduling as long as the needs of the unit are met.

Shift & Scheduling:

Weekend Requirement: Every-other-weekend - Weekend shifts for Nights are Fri/Sat/Sun
Holidays will depend on the needs of the unit. If they don't have enough perm staff to cover holidays, travelers would be expected to work holidays.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the 1st to float. Floating is required to any MedSurg units. If floated to Tele they would be assigned patients w/ in skillset.
