Requirements

Experience

9 months of acute care experience within the past 12 months.

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 12 months of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience with 9 months within the past 12 months.

3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: PICU, NICU experience. Experienced in other women’s health areas (labor and delivery, ob/gyn).

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Spinal taps.Titration of critical drips: sedation/vasoactive/paralytic. Sedated MRI. EKG/EEG/Telemetry. Port Access & Discontinuation. Intubation/Extubation.

Equipment Used on Unit: Alaris IV pump/Bair hugger/Kangaroo Feeding Pump/Giraffe infant warmer/Ventilators/BiPap/High Flow O2.

Unit/Facility Details: Number of Beds – 6

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends and On call(if any). Rotating weekends. May work mixed schedule of days/nights/weekends to fill scheduling holes as needed.

Floating Requirements: May float to NICU (take low acuity) or Nursery. May float to Ob/gyn if qualified.
