Shift: Monday - Friday

Call Requirements: N/A

Weekend Requirement: N/A

RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs: Cook is a Mandatory Float Facility, all resources are required to float at the facilities discretion.

Certs: ONS/ONCC (highly preferred)

Special Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

Previous Charge Experience: Preferred

Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred

Community Hospital Experience: Preferred

Orientation Hours: 40

Patient Age Groups: Adults

Daily Census: 143

Patient Diagnoses:

• All cancer diagnosis
• Benign hematologic conditions

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• All chemotherapy administration routes
• Thoracentesis
• Paracentesis
• Bone Marrow Biopsy
• Central Venous Catheter Placement
• Pap smears
• Breast and other tissue biopsies

Floating: Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. If your clinician refuses to float, they will be subject to cancelation. There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.
