Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Cardiac Intensive Care Unit experience is preferred with some in the last 24 months.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

3x12 or 4x12 RNs choice

Critical care and experience with PA catheters required

Call Req: No

Float Req: Yes- ICU, PCU

Will take 1.5 years exp If from a level 1 trauma center, large hospital

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 13

Patient population includes adults admitted with cardiac/vascular diagnoses and txs such as:

  • STEMI/NSTEMI
  • cardiogenic shock
  • unstable dysrhythmias
  • medical/interventional mgmt.
  • advanced heart failure, including short- and long-term
  • mechanical circulatory support and transplant (DO use pulmonary artery catheters quite a bit)
  • TTM post cardiac arrest
  • CRRT

Required:

  • Airway management
  • Management of IV drips
  • Management of patient with multisystem organ
  • dysfunction/failure
  • Management of ACS patients
  • Cardiac Rhythm recognition

Will have onsite EKG, Medication, BKAT testing

High acuity, 2nd highest case mix index in the hospital. Patient turnover can also be fairly rapid, as notifications for admissions come quickly and must be ready as soon as possible to admit.

Return Staff Policy (must be gone 2 yrs to return as traveler)
