Additional Details:
Shift & Scheduling: Evening/Night, may work between the hours of 1900-0730, with some weekends and holidays.
Required Skills/Experience: ICU experience required. No burn experience necessary.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience
Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite
Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Burn, Wounds, Off service ICU and IMC
Special Procedures/Unit Details: Only verified pediatric and adult burn center in state of Wisconsin. Travelers may be assigned to burn patients, but would not be asked to perform burn cares.
Special Requests: RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off).
Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday, but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change – traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week.
