Guaranteed Hours: 40
Will take call one night per week and every other weekend.
There is not a lot of call for this department but is required due to Trauma Center status. Need to live within 30 minutes of the facility due to call requirement. Department is closed on major holidays.
Minimum 2 years experience working in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, or Electrophysiology is required.
Previous experience working in PACU or Pre-Op setting is important.
Ability to start IVs is required; ability to circulate sterile procedures and assist physicians is required in Holding Room, IR/Cath Lab, CT, Ultrasound, or MRI departments.
Hemodynamic computer experience is highly desired, but not required. PICC experience would be extremely helpful.
Scrubs are provided by surgery department, or may wear any color of professional scrubs. No other facility logos permitted.
Orientation: Will accommodate start any day of the week. Will start in Human Resources and complete paperwork and obtain badge, next onto Occupational Health for Respiratory Fit Test and then will meet with Nursing Education to complete appropriate testing for their unit. All RNs will take a medication test the first day, and IR RNs will also take an EKG test. After testing, will go to the unit to finish their shift with a Clinical Preceptor. Will be provided additional orientation to unit as needed based on RN’s skill set.
