Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

24 months of Step Down Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Cyclic scheduling.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Floating Requirement: First to float. Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience.

Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke

RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro.

RNs must read and interpret strips.

Number of shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1- 12 hour shift in the department

RNs - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. Open book exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
