All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years
Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy can return after 3 months.
Required Skills/Experience: Orthotrauma care: Managing Post op ortho trauma surgery, blood administration, wound vacs, CPM, etc. Community Hospital Experience. Skills: Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Use of Rapid Response/Code teams IV therapy/Phlebotomy Peripheral Line Care/Management Blood Product Administration Phlebotomy Respiratory Nasal Cannula Oxygen administration Oxygen tanks Non-invasive airway management High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Professional Topics and Skills Isolation Precautions Wound Care/Wound Vac Work Settings MS/Tele Orthopedics Ortho trauma Peripheral nerve block catheters Total Joint Replacements Traction.
Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past. Cert: BLS - Must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation only.
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Orthopedic Trauma Unit-MVAs, Fractures, Amputations, Industrial Accidents, Gun Shot Wounds, Cellulitis, Joint Replacement Surgery, & COVID Patients Intermittently. Blood Administration, Phlebotomy by nursing staff, Lifting & Transfers, Surgical unit with Post Op Care Management, Prevention of Pressure Injuries.
Types of Patients on Unit: Adults.
Equipment Used on Unit: Wound Vacs, Bucks Tractions, CPMS, Hi Flow O2.
Unit/Facility Details: Parking Notes: Free in any unrestricted space, Please park in any of the free surface parking lots with signs that say ‘Employee/Visitor Parking. Number of Beds: 30.
Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission. Travelers may request standard and/or holiday time off (only one of the three major holidays); however, approval is at the client’s discretion. Are block schedules required: No.
Shift & Scheduling: Is on-call required: No. Are weekends required: Yes According to scheduling needs.
Floating Requirements: Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
