Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 charge/lead references from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Illinois license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Preferred)
Vaccinations
Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Required Skills/Experience: Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: PICC Line Management, Starting IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Telemetry experience preferred.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnoses: orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacement hips, knees, shoulders, spine surgeries, trauma patients needing many orthopedic surgical interventions, osteomyelitis and other infections involving skin and bone needing long term IV antibiotics

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: Special Equipment: slings, walkers, canes, traction, casts, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe pumps, hospital beds, PAS boot machines, vital sign monitors, vein finder

Unit/Facility Details: 38 bed unit. Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

Special Requests: Open to accommodating block schedule? No.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

A legible copy of a valid/current US Driver’s license or US ID card

Shift & Scheduling: Shift: 4x12 or 3x12 Nights, Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend, Is on-call REQ? None. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Floating Requirements: Will float to other Med Surg departments as needed
