Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from last 12 months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Shift & Scheduling: Evening/Night Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong Pediatric ICU experience and CVICU experience required. Cardiac step down and general cardiac experience required. Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.

Preferred Credentials: Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Required Credentials: Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Unit Details: American Family Children's Hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center featuring nationally recognized pediatric specialists in a wide range of fields, including faculty from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. Named for a generous gift from American Family Insurance and located in Madison, Wisconsin, the state-of-the-art facility wins widespread praise for its expert care and a warm, soothing atmosphere that enhances a child's ability to heal. Mixed unit with both CVPICU & PICU patients. 4 bed satellite ICU beds on General care floor.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.

  • Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

  • Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac, Respiratory, Neuro/Neurosurg, Level 1 trauma center, Transplant (heart, liver, kidney)

Equipment Used on Unit: CRRT, VAD, ECMO
