Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.
3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Montana license or compact license

Vaccinations

PCU/SCU

Required Skills/Experience:

  • PCU experience required
  • Knowledge and skills such as; Use of basic office equipment, use of multiple IV pumps, ability to operate advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, patients requiring noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support, basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation, Advanced Nursing, Principles and Procedures.
  • The Progressive Care Nurse will also complement the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are required

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience in post heart catheterization preferred.
  • 3 years preferred.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

  • Ability to manage the common IV medications to include but not limited to; Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dopamine.

Types of Patients on Unit:

  • Patients include but are not limited to pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis and a broad scope of surgical services.
  • Provides care for general medical and surgical patients on the in-patient unit.
