Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a California license

Family Birthing Center (L/D, Mother/Baby) - Required

Orientation: 12 Hours

1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

References: Charge references are accepted; 1 from within 12 months, 1 from within 3 years

Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.

Unit: Family Birthing Center - L&D and Mother Baby Ante/Post - all aspects of delivery

Required:

Highly prefer travelers that can work NRP role: "Catching Baby" - Preferred however the unit wants this skillset for night shift

Patient Ratio: L&D - 1/2, Delivery - 1/1, Mother/Baby Couplets - 1/4

Holidays Rotate in with core staff

Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips

Scheduling:

OT and extra shifts are available.

Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.

Schedules are out 4 weeks.

Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.

Block scheduling is generally not available.

If placed on-call, 30 minute response time

Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.

Patient Types / Common Diagnosis: Term, preterm, some high risk. Also have antepartum population
