Additional Details:
A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with CIWA/COWS Years of Experience: Preferred: 5+ years Assist with bedside procedures such as picc lines/midlines
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and as needed Call Requirements: No call required
Unit Details: Number of Beds: 13
Equipment Used on Unit: IV pumps, zoll monitor, IV catheters
Technology Used on Unit: EHR: HMS/Medhost
Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: Ages 18 to Geriatric (We occasionally see 17 year old patients)
Required Skills/Experience: Patient care of all ages, bedside shift report, IV access,
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Substance abuse, polysubtance abuse, ETOH, underlying behavioral conditions, hypertension, syncope, seizures, liver disease, cognitive changes, high fall risk, etc. Treatments vary with use. We use valium tapers, subutex, vivitrol, banana bags, and rescue medications, early and one-time doses of medications, along with routine and home meds.
