Adult Transitions
Required Skills/Experience: Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. This involves taking thorough patient histories, observing behavior, and using diagnostic tools.
Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis (e.g., suicidal ideation, aggression). This includes de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.
Therapeutic Communication: Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication skills, active listening, and empathy.
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.
Types of Patients on Unit: ADOL unit takes patients from 12-18 yo, Serenity is a lower acuity adult unit. ITU is the higher acuity adult unit (patients with thought disorder diagnoses), SRAD has patients that live a senior lifestyle. VINE is lower acuity adult unit.

Patient Ratios : nurses 8 to 1, mht’s 12:1
Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. Knowledge of psychotropic medications
Shift & Scheduling: We require coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Please note that days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
Floating Requirements: Floating policy: C/L is utilized where the greatest need is.
