Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Epic is preferred from last 12 months.
License
Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
Vaccinations
Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Trauma ICU - Required

Shift & Scheduling: Block Schedules: No

With every other weekend rotation and some holidays.

Floating: Travelers are the first to float. Depending on the current staffing needs, the traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units and/or at different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.

RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process.

Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required

Orientation: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday

Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change)

Orientation is typically about one week.

Required Skills / Experience: ICU experience

Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to.

Telemetry: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Preferred Skills / Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience

Types of Patients on Unit: Critically ill surgical, medical, and trauma patients

Respiratory (ARDS, ECMO), post-code care, sepsis, GI bleeds, post-op management, liver transplant, vascular surgery, trauma

Patient Population: Critically Ill Adult Patients, Geriatrics; Daily Census - 23

Unit Details: 24 Rooms, 24 Beds

Others: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite
