Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Comfortability working a 48hr/week contract
  • Experience with the above-mentioned patients
  • Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
  • Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs. post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
  • Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred

Types of Patients on Unit:

  • Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
  • Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac Cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population
  • Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced

Unit Details:

  • Beds: 39 – MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU – mixed unit
  • Patient Ratios - RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (rare) – acuity dependent

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

**Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other-but not guaranteed

Floating Requirements:

  • ICU RN qualified to float to ED
  • Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including MedSurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio.
