Requirements
Experience
6 months of acute care experience.
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with oxygen therapy, medication administration, wound care/dressing changes, vital signs, IV insertion, NG tube management, recognizing early signs of deterioration required

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation, knowledge of cardiac drips preferred

Required Credentials: Dysrhythmia exam needed

Preferred Credentials: Critical Care Course

Types of Patients on Unit: CKD, DM, CHF, UTI, GI bleeds, respiratory failure/COPD/pneumonia, sepsis, etc.

Equipment Used on Unit: Telemetry monitors, wound vac, warming blankets, IV pumps, PCA pumps

Technology Used on Unit: Systems aside from EPIC: PerfectServe, Dimensions

Unit Details:

  • MS Tele transitioning to RN Intermediate Care (2E) beginning of November
  • 29 beds, capability to go to 37 (8 semi-private rooms)

Shift & Scheduling: Expected to work every other weekend and holiday

Floating Requirements: Will float to other MS/Tele units
