Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license

- Need to be able to circulate and transition babies as well as labor.
- Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Care, Antihypertensives, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Terbutaline, Labor and Delivery Management, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Recover C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam, Antepartum Care and Procedures, Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), Fetal Monitoring, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Starting and maintaining IVs, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring, Neonatal Care in Delivery Room, APGAR scores, Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”), ID/Security Banding, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation, Newborn Care, Infant Identification, Pain Management, Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Pain assessment & management, Use of PCA (IV), Postpartum Care and Procedures, Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Foley catheter insertion/management, Fundus / lochia / perineum care, Postpartum Care of the Patient with, Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Section, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Vaccine Administration.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Facility births/month 200-300*, High Risk Antepartum*, Telemetry Interpretation*, Insulin drips*, Forceps/vacuum extraction*, Hemorrhage/shock*.
Special Requests:
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
- RTO required with submission, expect to work some holidays
Shift & Scheduling:
- Will consider a minimum of 13 weeks
- Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: Variable
Floating Requirements: RN will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, transition (no post-partum)
