Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

24 months of Neurologic Intensive Care Unit experience is preferred with some in the last 24 months.

Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license

Vaccinations

Additional Details:

Must have recent experience at a Level One Trauma Facility.

Please note that should you receive an offer for this position, you will have 48 hours to accept/decline.

Must be willing to fulfill a full 13 week contract.

Candidates should expect to work 2-3 of the 4 Summer Holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, and Labor Day).

Any RTO should be provided at time of submission to be considered.

No block scheduling

Every other weekend

Must pass EKG exam

Must have experience with ICP and lumbar drains. Prefer experience with licox.

You will be required to float to 51 Stroke/Neuro Universal, 52 EMU/Neuro Universal, 7M Neuro Universal within the neurosciences service line and to other ICUs.

Must be able to work weekends & holidays

Orientation Hours: 24

Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 18

Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, SAH, SDH, EDH, IVH, SCI, DAI, TBI, Brain Tumors

Compliance requirements: Advanced Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, General ICU competency exam, Neuro Competency exam, General ICU skills, Neuro ICU skills, CORE exams

RTO - must be presented at time of submission. Any time off sent after the offer will not be approved.

Return Staff Policy: Gone for 90 days to return as traveler

License Hits: University of Kentucky WILL NOT accept any licensure hits.
